Explore Big Ideas

Labster's award-winning lab simulations have been proven to increase learning outcomes. Our interactive labs help students understand key science practices and make learning engaging and fun.

Make AP Biology Come to Life with Labster

AP Biology courses are structured around four big ideas which encompass the core scientific principles, theories and processes governing living organisms and biological systems. Labster brings these big ideas to life with true-to-life virtual laboratory experiments.

Big Idea 1

The process of evolution drives the diversity and unity of life.

Big Idea 2

Biological systems utilize free energy and molecular building blocks to grow, to reproduce and to maintain dynamic homeostasis.

Big Idea 3

Living systems store, retrieve, transmit and respond to information essential to life processes.

Big Idea 4

Biological systems interact and these systems and their interactions possess complex properties.
