Welcome NewScientist readers

A shared passion for science

The importance of hybrid teaching became even more apparent in the last year. As we slowly but surely move toward a post-COVID world, it’s clear that technology within education is here to stay. Additionally, due to the limited access to the wet lab, your students might have experienced a learning loss during the pandemic. How do you mitigate it as we start the new semester? Our mission is to provide instructors with the tools to supplement the teaching and empower the next generation of scientists. To give you a little glimpse into our world, we’re giving you free access to three of our new simulations – scroll down and enjoy!

In case you experience any problems with our simulations, please take a look at our Basic Labster Troubleshooting help article.

What the professors say

1,000s of higher education institutions, high schools and companies around the world use Labster. Here’s what some of them are saying.

The Impact of Labster on an Introductory Chemistry Course at San José State University

Introductory Chemistry is a required course for all nursing majors and satisfies general education requirements. In 2020, Dr. Melody Esfandiari from San José State University introduced her 400+ student class to Labster when the Covid pandemic prevented in-person labs. She tracked the impact of Labster in two ways: by comparing students’ grades to those of a previous class and by surveying students about their perceptions of Labster’s effectiveness.

Using virtual labs has shown substantial learning improvement. Based on research conducted by San Jose State University, the students’ grades improved after introducing Labster during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the student feedback was positive.
