Anthony Palmiotto is the director of higher education at OpenStax. He collaborates with faculty, students, instructional designers, OER advocates, and OpenStax’s internal team to understand and support educational needs. He focuses on improving educational equity and deepening student belonging through meaningful and memorable learning experiences. Before OpenStax, Anthony worked with colleges and publishers to develop research-driven instructional methods and technologies. He loves to be a learner, particularly by trying things he’s bad at.

Ashley Buitenwerf, PhD
Education Strategist
Labster

As Labster’s Education Strategist, Ashley leads the way in ensuring that science and teaching are at the heart of Labster and our products. With a PhD in Natural Sciences and Mathematics and 20 years of experience as an educator in countries including the US, South Africa and Denmark, Ashley is an expert at conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences in an engaging, accessible, and inspiring way. Her teaching methods resulted in a 90% improvement rate in state testing scores, aided and guided by her design of internationally recognized curricula. Ashley’s experiences in both higher and high school education ensure that the requirements and dialogues of both educators and their students are deeply embedded into Labster’s processes and offerings. As a scientist and educator, Ashley’s strategy is to ensure that every student is equipped and empowered with the knowledge and enthusiasm to pursue their goals.
