Securing Trust: Labster Renews SOC 2 Type 2 Compliance for 2026

Your data security matters to us, and you don't have to take our word for it. Labster and UbiSim have renewed our SOC 2 Type 2 compliance following a third-party audit by Insight Assurance, covering the period of May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026.

A Type 2 report examines how our controls operate over a full year, not just at a single moment, so this renewal reflects twelve months of consistent, verified security practices. Our mission is to make immersive learning accessible to students anytime, anywhere, and keeping institution, educator, and student data safe is part of that promise. This year, we are proud to say we have achieved an unqualified assessment with no findings as a result of the audit.

What is SOC 2?

SOC 2 is an audit that assesses and tests an organization's information security and data privacy controls. The standard is maintained by the AICPA (the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). A Type 2 report goes a step further than Type 1: instead of confirming controls exist at a point in time, it verifies they operated effectively across an extended period — in our case, a full year.
