As Labster's new Vice President of Academic Affairs, Julian is focusing his attention on building strong and lasting relationships with new academic partners and deepening existing Labster collaborations. Julian has an extensive background in improving teaching and learning through the strategic use of technology, innovative pedagogies, and data analytics. He spent nearly 26 years with Georgia State University in Atlanta, where he achieved his MBA and doctorate in Instructional Technology. He began his career there assisting instructors in making the most of classroom and online technologies and concluded it as the inaugural chief learning innovations officer and assistant vice president. Specifically, he taught Leadership in Instructional Technology in the College of Education and Human Development. Julian extended his professional influence beyond Georgia State as a faculty member in the Learning Technology Leadership program at the influential non-profit EDUCAUSE Institute.
JJ is a Senior Product Manager at Labster who is responsible for the Portal product, which allows educators and students to access Labster simulations and use them in their courses.
Bonnie Nieves has an M.Ed. in Curriculum, Instruction & Educational Leadership. She is a high school teacher at Nipmuc Regional High School in Massachusetts, a science and edtech consultant, presenter, and author. Bonnie is the founder of Educate On Purpose where she provides online courses and virtual and in-person professional development training for schools and individuals.
Dr. Eddy van Hunnik earned his doctorate in biology from the University of Amsterdam. He is a full-time bioscience and biotechnology instructor at Alamance Community College in Graham, North Carolina, one of the first biotechnology programs in the nation. Dr. van Hunnik designs courses and teaches lab techniques in microbiology, genetics, environmental, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, and biotechnology to a diverse student population that includes traditional and nontraditional students.
