What is a Labster virtual lab?

A Labster virtual lab is an interactive assignment students complete online, on their own schedule. Some labs build foundational knowledge for gateway courses, using visualizations that make complex concepts easier to grasp. Others give students realistic practice with lab techniques and equipment before they step into a wet lab or a STEM career.

How is Labster different from other learning solutions?

Labster expands access to hands-on STEM experiences through interactive virtual lab simulations built by scientists for active learning. Unlike a video or a textbook, students have to make decisions, think critically, and solve a real-world problem to move forward. Automated grading and performance tracking let faculty scale labs across sections without adding grading time.

What types of courses does Labster support?

Labster supports STEM courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and health sciences within colleges, universities, high school districts, and online academies. Search the Content Catalog to find simulations for your courses.

Does Labster work with Learning Management Systems (LMS)?

Yes. Labster integrates with the LMS platforms colleges and universities use most, including Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, and more. Students open Labster like any other assignment in their course. If your institution doesn't use an LMS integration, students log in through Labster's Course Manager.

How is Labster purchased?

Labster is only available for purchase by faculty and administration at academic institutions. We offer flexible, institution-friendly pathways for adopting immersive learning experiences at scale, including bookstore and institutional licensing, to best fit your operational and funding environment. Annual plans start at $5,000 USD and are tailored to your courses and enrollment.
