What is Labster?
Labster is a growing science education platform focused on high-quality virtual simulations to help students visualize scientific concepts and practice laboratory skills. Our simulations are virtual learning experiences in which students navigate real-world scenarios in a video game-like environment to learn scientific skills and concepts. We are expanding our offerings to go beyond the simulations and include lab manuals, lab reports, 3D animations, science image libraries, and more!
Does Labster integrate with my Learning Management Systems?
Yes, almost definitely! Labster integrates with all major Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Google Classroom, Schoology, Sakai, Brightspace D2L) so that educators and students have a seamless experience of using Labster.
Does Labster align with any curriculum standards?
Absolutely! Labster content aligns with major curriculum standards (NGSS, IB, AP) and we are committed to developing our new content based on the needs of educators and students around the world.
How does Labster make content more accessible?
Our team at Labster is committed to providing educational material that engages and benefits all learners, including those with disabilities. Labster uses the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards as the basis for our product development. Our catalog is currently undergoing upgrades to make all our content fully accessible. Can I get a free trial of Labster?

What is the difficulty level of Labster content?
Labster content varies in difficulty. If you purchase full access to our content, you will have 200+ simulations at your fingertips and you can determine what content will challenge your students appropriately. Labster’s simulations are used at college/university level, and the high school level. Some of our simulations are even appropriate for middle school students! The versatility of Labster content allows you to find the right difficulty level for your students.
What devices does Labster work with?
Labster simulations need to be run on a laptop or desktop computer that meets our minimum system requirements. As Labster content is expanding with in-depth theory, animations, quiz questions, lab manuals and more, your students can access more Labster content from any device.
Are Labster simulations available in different languages?
Yes! Our team is committed to bringing Labster content to more educators and students around the world, regardless of their language and background. Our simulations and other content is currently being translated into Spanish, French, German and Italian, you can view all translated simulations here.
What is included when I purchase Labster?
It depends! With any purchase of Labster you will gain access to our simulations, theory pages, lab supplements (lab reports, lab manuals, 2D images, animations) and detailed instructor dashboard. Labster’s content is versatile and ever-expanding! The core of our offering is our virtual simulations, which can be used as preparation for a wet lab, review of scientific concepts, homework, lecture supplement, in-class exercise, or assessment preparation. Can students edit quiz questions?
Every Labster virtual lab poses multiple choice questions as students progress through the simulation. The questions are designed to help students learn as they work their way through the lab simulation.
Each student sees the unnumbered questions in a randomized order, and that order changes each time they re-attempt a correct answer. In other words, there’s no way to get through it without carefully reading the answer options each and every time.
The best way to correctly answer a Labster quiz question is to click on the Theory tab in the Labpad and read the Theory pages.
