Introduction to the Female Reproductive System

About this Simulation

Discover the structure of the female reproductive system in three dimensions! In this virtual lab experience, you will use a realistic and high-tech hologram to observe the structures and organs that play an important role in the female reproductive system. Interact with the uterus, vagina, ovaries and uterine tubes and inspect them closely to learn about their anatomy and function.

Follow an egg's journey

Take advantage of the opportunity to closely follow the egg creation journey through the follicular phase, ovulation, and the secretory phase. You will recognize and explain the stages of the ovarian cycle and be able to define the placement of the egg throughout its entire journey from the ovaries through the uterine tubes to the uterus.

Overcome the misconceptions about female gross anatomy

Gain an in-depth understanding by identifying the most common misconceptions about the female reproductive system. You will have an opportunity to take a True/False quiz to ensure that the information you are taking away is actually true!

Learning Objectives

At the end of this simulation, you will be able to:

  • Distinguish between the primary sex organ and the accessory sex organs

  • Order the female reproductive system from the site of ovulation, to the site of implantation, to the birth canal

  • Demonstrate knowledge about the regions of the ovaries, uterine tubes, uterus and vagina

Techniques in Lab

At the end of this simulation, you will be able to:
