Dr. Maryline Chemama is a Chemistry professor, Distance Education coach, and coordinator at Chaffey College. Her academic journey began at Sorbonne University, Paris, focusing on Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry. After completing a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, she pursued postdoctoral studies at UC Riverside, discovering a passion for teaching. She is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and empowers students from diverse backgrounds to excel. With expertise in Organic Synthesis and a heart for mentorship, Dr. Maryline Chemama continues to inspire the next generation of scientists and educators.
Since 2016, Kim Touneh has taught biology as an adjunct instructor at Skyline College in San Mateo County, California. She's been teaching both part-time and full-time at various colleges over the last 25 years. Before her college teaching career, she was an endangered species biologist for the US Department of Interior. She completed her studies at UCLA (graduate) and UCSB (undergraduate) in evolution and ecology, focusing on invertebrate zoology.
Julian Allen, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Academic Affairs for Labster, whose interactive virtual training simulations provide immersive digital learning experiences that reinforce the exciting connection between science and the real world for more than six million students in educational institutions around the globe. When he was the Chief Learning Innovations Officer at Georgia State University, Dr. Allen led initiatives to strengthen teaching and learning through the strategic use of technology, innovative pedagogies, and data analytics. He was also a faculty member in the Learning Technology Leadership program at the nonprofit association EDUCAUSE, helping develop the next generation of learning technology innovators.
I'm dedicated to introducing Labster to all California Community Colleges. I am the first point of contact in your institution's Labster journey as well as expansion across new departments. It's my role to: perform product tours and demonstrations, spearhead trials and evaluations, share best practices for teaching with virtual lab simulations — in both face-to-face and asynchronous courses, and support you through the purchasing process via a consultative approach.
